The Endless Summer Resort
Exciting news yet again for all Westside residents and then some!
First a zip-lining adventure park, now a surfing resort is in the works for West Oahu! The concept is named after the historic surfing movie, The Endless Summer. The resort will comprise of 400 rooms, eateries, a spa, approximately 50,000 sqft of surf retail, and a surfing museum. Bruce McFarland of American Wave Machines, the brains behind the wave pool technology, says, “at The Endless Summer Resort, we will be able to create a surfing experience that removes the fear for beginners and in some cases, exceeds the real thing for expert surfers”. Basically, it’s surfing without all the reef, sharks, Portuguese man o' wars, you get my jist!
Currently, the investors are negotiating with a potential land owner in West Oahu. This venture will also be providing more local jobs as well as expand the tourism scope to the west side. In the next few months, the investors will be consulting with potential contractors and operators and the expected opening date should be by mid-2017. The developer is asking for the public’s suggestions by way of a short survey and watching an informational video: http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/1747024/The-Endless-Summer-Resort.
