Live Work Play Aiea!
Plans for the Kamehameha Drive-In project is expected to create five high-rise condominiums, comprising of up to 1,500 residential units. An agreement was made between the Council and proposed developer, Robertson Properties, requiring the developer to make at least 30% of all units affordable for those in lower-income brackets. Alike any high-rise proposed projects, there are oppositions by neighbors about the increase in traffic and blockage of view scope. Nonetheless, Live Work Play Aiea is an exciting project, given that Aiea has not seen any development in a very long time. I say lets embrace the opportunity for lower-income families to have a chance at owning their very own home.
