Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden
The Garden is located on the Big Island of Hawaii, 8 1/2 miles north of Hilo on the four-mile Scenic Route at Onomea Bay. In this garden valley, nature trails meander through a true tropical rainforest, crossing bubbling streams, passing several beautiful waterfalls and the exciting ocean vistas along the rugged Pacific Coast.
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, established in 1916, displays the results of 70 million years of volcanism, migration and evolution — processes that thrust a bare land from the sea and clothed it with complex and unique ecosystems and a distinct human culture. Hiking and camping opportunities.
Hilo Hattie is Hawaiian shopping at its finest! Souvenirs, gifts, Hawaiian clothing available at two locations on the Big Island.
Hilo Hawaiian Hotel
Hilo Hawaiian Hotel offers luxurious accommodations and views of the ocean or quaint Hilo town framed by the backdrop of Mauna Kea. Located on Hilo Bay, and approximately two miles from Hilo Airport, Hilo Hawaiian Hotel is centrally located.
Lyman Museum
The nationally accredited Lyman Museum showcases the natural and cultural history of Hawaii in its exhibit halls and its 1839 historic missionary home. The museum also features collections of seashells and minerals that are world-wide in scope, ancient art of China, artists of Hawaii, and changing special exhibitions. Many community programs and events are held each year. Located in downtown Hilo, the Lyman Museum offers a unique educational and cultural experience for people of all ages.
Naniloa Volcanos Resort
The Hawaii Naniloa Resort offers nice accommodations on Banyan Drive in Hilo. Nearby is shopping, a semi-private golf course, hotel pool, fitness center, and lomi-lomi massage. Close to Hilo, beaches and more.
Parker Ranch is a major land holder and supporter of the Big Island local community. Ranch headquarters are located in Kamuela-Waimea. They offer a wide variety of activities from horseback tours, covered wagon rides to great shopping fun!
State Parks
Many beautiful waterfalls are located in the State park system. Rainbow Falls is located in Hilo. Akaka Falls is an impressive falls along the Hamakua Coast. Laupahoehoe Point has no falls, but is a great state facility for picnicking.
Uncle Billy's offers affordable and comfortable accommodations located on both sides of the island.
