Lucky We Live Hawaii (and Pay the Nation's Lowest Property Tax)

At this time of the year, many of us are experiencing the stress of filing our Tax Returns (especially when we owe the IRS).  In addition, we have to contend with traffic just about 24/7 with the Rail being the one of the major factors.  Road repairs, a growing population and muliple family cars compounds our traffic problem.

 

In spite of these drawbacks, we are "lucky to live in Hawaii".  Besides our islands' natural beauty, the quality of our environment, and many other positive assets, we have the lowest average property tax in the nation and we pay no vehicle tax.  However, we do have the highest cost of living, 57% higher than the national average according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.  A price that is worth paying to live in Paradise!
