The Meaning of Aloha

I wanted to share with you why Maui is one of the top vacations spots in the world and why those that live and buy property here love Maui and Hawaii so much. We have all heard of the spirit of Aloha so I am going to share with you the true Hawaiian meaning for Aloha as the Hawaiians lived their lives long before being discovered by Captain Cook that I have learned and experienced during the years I vacationed here and after purchasing my Oceanfront hideaway on Maui.

“And wherever {the native Hawaiian} went he said ‘Aloha’ in meeting or in parting. ‘Aloha was a recognition of life in another. If there was life there was mana, goodness and wisdom, and if there was goodness and wisdom there was God quality. One had to recognize the ‘god of life’ in another before saying ‘Aloha’ life was everywhere --- in the trees, the flowers, the ocean, the fish, the birds, the grass, the rainbow, the rock—in all. The world was life—was god—was Aloha. Aloha in it’s gaiety, joy, happiness, abundance. There is so much more to the Spirit of Aloha that you can research and read about so when you here and say Aloha the next time think of what the true meaning is and say it as the Hawaiians have always said it.
