Kahakuloa Village: A Little Slice of Heaven
Aloha from Joni Whiting on Maui! Maui is home to numerous beautiful old churches.
The photograph above is one of two located in Kahakuloa Village. This community is one of the most isolated spots on Maui. Most of the residents work in and around the village.
Kahakuloa is home the Panini Kea Fruit Stand, purveyor of the world's best banana bread. It is also the site of Ululani by the Bay, a pink cart with sodas and snacks run by Ululani Ho'opi'I, wife of recording artist Richard Ho'opi'I of the Ho'opi'I Brothers. You won't find gas or a restaurant here, but you will find very friendly people. This is a great day trip off the beaten path and a must-do while on Maui.
So come check out my little slice of Heaven. Hopefully I can help you find your own slice of Heaven here on Maui too.
