Island Living… Keiki Style: Kapoho Tide Pools
Swimming in the Kapoho tide pools! My kids love it here! This area along the sunny Kapoho Coast has many tide pools that are naturally formed. Many of them are heated volcanically and are spring fed. This makes the brackish water warm and calm like a giant, heated pool. The water is usually very clear and an abundance of sea life from the coral reef to colorful fish, eels and sea turtles can be explored via diving mask and snorkel. This equals tons of fun in the sun for the kids!
Here are a few tips for parents:
- Water shoes are recommended.
- This is a fragile environment so please educate your children and stay off the coral
- Some tide pools have been incorporated into private residences, make sure you are in a public access area.
