Fern Acres Subdivision
Fern Acres, previously known as Crescent Acres, was founded in the 1950s. Fern Acres community works to improve the roads and provides electric service to most lots. Water is catchment only.
Hawaiian Acres
A community subdivision with maintained roads, volunteer fire department, neighborhood watch program, television, telephone, water catchment, and cesspools. Hawaiian Acres has privacy, plentiful rain, views of the volcano and ocean. Great weather from trade winds, and access to state land for hunting.
Hawaiian Paradise Park Subdivision
Hawaiian Paradise Park is located in the Puna District of East Hawaii, approximately 15 miles southeast of Hilo. This subdivision fronts State Highway 130 and stretches 4 miles to the Pacific Ocean and is 3 1/2 miles wide. It is the second largest private subdivision the the United States with over 8800 building lots, most of which are one acre in size.
Nanawale Subdivision
Nanawale Community Association's (NCA) mission is to make Nanawale the Big Island's most beautiful community. This subdivision has a community pool, playground, picnic area and ball park. Nanawale Community Association was founded in 1960. Nanawale has building covenants & restrictions. Nanawale Estates is approximately 40 minutes from Hilo.
Orchidland Estates
Orchidland is about 12 miles south of Hilo. Orchidland has electricity and telephone (with some DSL capability)and satellite TV. There is no city water, sewer, gas or cable available. Water is provided through catchment systems. Residences have either a cesspool or a septic tank. Roads are both paved and gravel. Orchidland does not have covenants and restrictions.
