Exciting New Mall for West Oahu: Ka Makana Ali'i
DeBartolo Development - a real estate investment firm based out of Tampa, Florida - is the giant behind this proposed 1.4 million-sq. ft. shopping mall. Considered to be DeBartolo Development's initial development in Hawaii, the project will feature in over 100 shops, restaurants, a movie theatre, a department store (Macy's), two hotels, and energy-efficient office space. It is projected that West Oahu will have more than 80,000 new homes built by 2025, therefore catering to the ever-growing population here on Oahu.
Ground-breaking for the first of two phases to start in late 2014 and is projected to open in 2016. In addition, this project will offer 3,000 construction jobs, not to meantion 6,500 permanent full-time job positions upon completion. If you ask me, that's a win-win for us all! There is no doubt in my mind, Ka Makana Ali'i will become the primary get-together site for the up-and-coming West Oahu urban community!
