Big Island Hot Spots: Merry Monarch!

Another great Hot Spot on the Big Island that you will have to see while you are in town is the Hilo Merry Monarch coming up in April. It happens every year at the same time where the best of the best Hula dancers come out to compete at the Edith Kanakaole Tennis Stadium in Hilo.  It is filled with 3 nights of dancing, food and fun.  Prior and during the event, you will experience many varieties of homemade crafts throughout the entire town. You will get to experience a replica of the King and Queen and their court dressed up in full gowns, as a series of Hawaiian chants, melodies, drums, ukulele's and dancing entertains you.  From slow and elegant to fast and fierce.  It is a wonderful monumental experience.
