Maui Made, for Sure!

Have you ever found the perfect specialty gift from the place you live or are traveling, only to discover those tiny and all-too-familiar words written somewhere across one of it’s surfaces: “Made in [insert country located roughly 1 million miles away from the place you are buying the gift]”.

On Maui, we have the Made in Maui Trade Council. This committee is formed by The Maui Chamber of Commerce and is made of over 70 members committed to safeguarding the “Made in Maui” seal. In other words, ensuring that “Made in Maui” remains an unbroken promise to consumers that at least 51% of the value added to the product was done on Maui, that Ulapalakua Red Raspberry Jam is really what it says on the label. The seal is a source of pride for everything from food to clothes to trade shows.

So next time you’re looking for that special Maui gift, please support our local men and women by remembering to find out where it’s made.
